Following on from 10×10 yesterday, I found this neat thing (still in beta) on Crowdsourcing. It’s one of the outputs of the gang at IBM’s Collaborative User Experience team’s Visual Communication Lab a team concerned with visual communication of data and how users behave around it…
The base application here is a means to store data in visual form and allow other folk to manipulate it (see how the beneficiaries of US military aid changes year by year for example). Neat but nothing new, nowadays I guess.
What I like the app that follows what we are “digging”: it uses the same tech to help us track what we get excited about online at any time and how that changes…
There are better technical tools out there if you really want to monitor stuff on t’internet in a grown up way, but this gives me a really good instinctive feel for what’s happening in Digg land
